Studio Swing publishes this comparison and offers separately agreed website care. We appear first to make that commercial interest clear. The order is not a ranking. Alternatives follow alphabetically. We compare published coverage, not independently tested incident response or reliability.

A website care plan is useful when it identifies who will do the jobs your site needs. Software updates, backups, restored backups, security work, content changes and broken-form investigation are different responsibilities. A plan that covers one does not automatically cover the others.

This comparison covers Studio Swing, Pronto Marketing and WP Buffs. The latter two are relevant WordPress care providers. Do not transfer their WordPress inclusions to Shopify, a custom application or another platform without explicit agreement.

Compare the responsibility you need covered

ProviderReason to investigateImportant boundary
Studio SwingA written selection of care jobs with named responsibilityCoverage and quote agreed for your site; no blanket response SLA stated
Pronto MarketingWordPress maintenance with hosted and higher-support optionsHosting arrangement affects inclusions; access and exit terms matter
WP BuffsTiered WordPress care, including agency-branded packagesEdits, advanced functionality and staging depend on tier

Confirm the platform, plugins, host and integrations before comparing cost. A static information site and a busy transactional site can need very different recovery arrangements.

Studio Swing: care agreed job by job

Our website care service is optional and separate from a website build unless included in writing. We agree which jobs we handle and name who does each one.

The offer covers selectable responsibilities for updates, backups, security checks, renewals, important forms and transactions, and keeping content current. Where we agree to handle backups, the offer includes testing them by restoration. Frequency, retention, restore demonstrations, access and escalation still need to be specified for your site.

Your domain, accounts, files and logins remain yours. Hosting and Shopify accounts are in your name, and we work as collaborators. You can manage the site yourself or end care and take your materials with you, subject to third-party terms.

That is a stated offer, not a claim that we have independently proven a recovery target or uninterrupted availability. We publish no universal care response time, fixed tariff or guarantee that a site will never fail or be hacked. Our original concepts are design studies, not care-service client evidence.

Consider us when: you want to agree the specific responsibilities around your website rather than assume a standard plan covers them.

Ask us: which jobs are covered, what triggers an escalation, what restoration test you receive and what remains your responsibility?

Pronto Marketing: WordPress maintenance with hosting choices

Pronto’s care page separates technical support from higher tiers with edits/development and a dedicated site manager. Its base hosted plan lists maintenance, backups and hosting; the page describes reduced inclusions when supporting a site hosted elsewhere.

Its FAQ states daily backups and paid options for greater frequency. The WordPress scope is important: do not assume the same malware or update work covers a separate custom script or application.

Also examine access and exit. The care page restricts direct server access. Its export FAQ offers a full backup while removing most Pronto-specific plugins and paid licences, with assisted migration available separately. A downloadable site and continuing paid software licences are different handover items.

Consider Pronto when: you want to investigate WordPress hosting and maintenance together, with optional ongoing change work.

Ask: what is covered on your chosen host, which changes fit the plan, how restoration is verified and what software needs replacing on exit? Published response and uptime claims are provider statements; inspect their contractual definitions before relying on them.

WP Buffs: choose a WordPress tier around functionality

WP Buffs’ plans distinguish standard maintenance from edits/security, advanced functionality and custom-coded sites. The published tier descriptions put edits above the base plan, ecommerce management and malware removal in Perform, and staging updates and custom-functionality monitoring in Custom. Its care packages can also be offered under a partner’s branding.

Its backup service page describes managed restoration, external storage, a 30-day history and a US/EU storage choice. These are useful subjects for a proposal, but a restore service does not establish a routine restore-testing schedule or recovery-time commitment.

There is an unresolved wording difference: the reviewed pages describe up to four backups daily across plans, while one backup passage associates four daily backups with Perform and above. Confirm the actual frequency for the selected plan. The pricing page also retains an expired promotional banner, so recheck current terms rather than relying on the promotion.

Consider WP Buffs when: you have an existing WordPress site and want tiered care, including a possible agency-branded arrangement.

Ask: which tier covers your plugins and custom functionality, what an edit includes, how backups are tested and how you recover or export them after cancellation. Its published support FAQ describes email support rather than phone support.

Test the recovery plan on paper first

Consider a fictional distributor website receiving quote requests throughout the day. Its product catalogue changes weekly. A failed plugin update could stop enquiries while leaving the homepage apparently healthy. This is a planning example, not an incident experienced by a provider or client.

For this site, an uptime check alone would be insufficient. The care scope should identify the journeys to test and the records that could be lost during restoration.

QuestionA useful written answer contains
What is backed up?Files, database, uploads and relevant external data, with exclusions
How much data could be lost?Backup frequency and the recovery point the site needs
Can it be restored?Who restores, where it is tested and how a successful test is recorded
What if an enquiry disappears?A submission-to-receipt check and an investigation owner
What happens after an update fails?Rollback, escalation and approval responsibilities
What happens if we leave?Export access, retained copies, accounts and licence changes

Choose recovery requirements around the site’s activity. A nightly backup can miss enquiries or orders received since the last copy. Restoring a database may also overwrite newer records. Establish the process for preserving and reconciling them before an emergency.

Compare complete annual responsibility

This article leaves headline prices out because the plans and proposed responsibilities differ. Compare the current written quote, hosting and licences, included changes and work charged separately. A low maintenance fee can still leave you responsible for restoration, an external integration or a failed form.

For Shopify, establish who checks apps, theme changes, content, domains and customer journeys even though the platform handles its core software. For custom software, obtain explicit coverage instead of assuming WordPress care transfers to it.

Our guide to what website maintenance includes explains the jobs in more detail. If you want us to agree the responsibilities for your site, tell us its platform and which jobs you want covered. Discuss your project.
